A short version of why AI Checkers exists, and what we are honest about it not being.
We started AI Checkers after running into the same problem over and over. Someone would send us a paragraph, an article, or a school essay and ask a simple question: does this sound like a person wrote it, or does it sound like it came out of a chatbot? Most of the tools we tried either hid their result behind a paywall, asked for an account we did not want to create, or gave us a confident sounding number with zero explanation behind it.
So we built a free AI checker of our own. Nothing about it needs a login. You paste your text, run the check, and see the result along with the exact sentences that pulled the score toward human or AI. That last part matters to us more than the score itself. A number with no explanation is not much more useful than a guess.
Our tool reads a piece of text the way an attentive editor might, just faster. It looks at how much sentence length varies through a piece, which words and phrases show up more than they should, how often the same short phrase repeats, and a handful of structural habits, like formulaic dashes and rule of three lists, that tend to show up more in AI writing than in ordinary human writing. All of that gets combined into one plain score and label: human, mixed, or AI.
We are not going to pretend this is a lie detector. No AI detector on the market today, including the well funded ones with large teams behind them, gets every single case right. Formal writing, technical writing, and writing by non native English speakers can sometimes read as more uniform than casual writing, and that can nudge a score in the wrong direction. We built the tool to be a useful signal, something that points you toward the parts of a text worth a second look, not a court verdict on who wrote what.
Writers checking their own drafts before publishing. Students who want to be sure an essay sounds like their own voice. Editors screening submissions. Site owners keeping their content consistent. If any of that sounds like you, the checker is right there on our homepage, free every time you use it.
If you have feedback, spot a case where the result felt off, or just want to say hello, our contact page has the details.
